One Year, One Word: Hope
Each year at First Baptist Church of Norristown, we have a single word that we reflect on and are actively pursuing as a church. This year, our word is HOPE.
This world is full of a lot of pain and if we focus on the hurt we’ve experienced, it can keep us stuck in a cycle of suffering like a depressing song that never ends. When we continuously replay the pain in our minds, it becomes difficult to move forward and find peace. So, instead of focusing on the pain, we agree to focus on the HOPE in our lives this year. 1 Timothy 4:10 says, “That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our HOPE in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.”
We are striving to be better. We are trying to grasp HOPE. We are trying to make it tangible and tell others of the HOPE that Jesus Christ gives us each and every day to live.
