Pastor Kelly comes to FBC with a desire to see Jesus bring more people to know Him than we could ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). She is convinced that whether you have grown up in the church or never so much as heard Jesus' Gospel, our Savior wants you to know Him more. It is His desire that the messy would know Him as Savior, the broken discover He is Healer, the hurting learn of Him as Comforter, the lacking meet Him as Provider, and all know His love is real. She knows that our God can do more than we can ask or imagine and He will as we come to know Him, to trust Him, and to live in light of His power. These convictions shape her life and ministry here at FBC.
Growing up in Jane Lew, WV with her mom and younger brother, Pastor Kelly learned to love the mountains and they still make her heart beat faster when she drives back to visit family. She also learned how to mispronounce words like worship (that's 'whar-ship' for her) and to stomp a bit when the sermon hits full-swing.
After high school, the Lord took Pastor Kelly to Lexington, VA for college. While there her accent grew stronger as she completed her B.A. from Washington and Lee University. Next up, Jesus sent her just northeast of Boston, MA (let's just say that was a tough sell to her southern friends) to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where she received her Master of Divinity in 2009. She also learned to add the letter 'r' where it does not belong. During her years in Massachusetts, our God blessed her mightily by granting she be ordained into the American Baptist Churches, USA by the church at which she served.
In September of 2009, Pastor Kelly said 'yes' to Jesus' call and traveled to Norristown, PA to serve as pastor to all the folks He has brought and will bring to FBC. She hopes to continue to serve Jesus at FBC and watch His Spirit move powerfully in this region for years to come.
