Welcome! We are so glad you want to learn more about what God is up to at FBC and how you might connect with Him here. Attending a church for the first time can sometimes be uncomfortable because you do not know what to expect. We hope the following information will help to answer your questions.
Who will I find at FBC?This one is simple! You will find moms and dads trying to love our kids well, grandparents delighted to spoil grandkids, and students navigating life. You will meet blue-collar workers, office managers, medical professionals, business owners, retirees, and stay-at-home dads. You will discover excellent cooks, avid Phillies fans, and dedicated gardeners. But, most importantly, you will find messy and broken people, lavishly and profoundly loved by our Savior and Healer, Jesus Christ.
What is a worship service like? Our worship service consists primarily of three parts: music, prayer, and the Word. Our music is a blend of traditional hymns (like “Amazing Grace”) and contemporary praise songs (like “In Christ Alone”) led by members of our church family who love Jesus. We dedicate a portion of our service to allowing anyone who desires to share together praises and prayer concerns. And the Word of God undergirds all that we do. Pastor Kelly calls us to not only hear, but apply the Scriptures in concrete, life-transforming ways. We receive communion on the first Sundays of the month; anyone who knows Jesus as Savior and Lord may receive.
What should I wear?Whatever you find most comfortable! Jesus’ desire is that you come to know Him and to make Him known and, quite frankly, He doesn’t care if you do that in a suit or dress, khakis and button down top, or jeans and a t-shirt. And neither do we. Most of our church family wears “business casual” attire.
How long will I be there? Our worship service begins at 10:30 AM and is finished by 12 PM. We encourage you to stay afterward to spend time with church friends and enjoy the delicious snacks provided each week!
What about my kids?We provide safe, free childcare for your children during the worship service. Nursery care is provided for infants-3 year olds. Plan to arrive a few minutes early (10:25 AM) to drop-off and settle-in your child. You can pick your child up in the nursery following service. Kids ages 4 and up are encouraged to participate in the worship service together with their families, as they learn what it is to worship our great God. Children will sing to the LORD, participate in the offering, and come forward for a special children’s message. Before the congregation begins to share prayer requests, children are invited to take part in Junior Church – a special service designed just for kids! They will sing, study the Word, pray, play games, and make crafts. All childcare workers have undergone child safety training and submitted to a background check.
What time is worship?Worship begins at 10:30 AM. If you have young children, plan to arrive a few minutes early to settle them into the nursery.
